Of course, the compound on the Conti tyres, is generated from computers. Hence, to provide the tyres with tread pattern .Including , high-void all-terrain pattern with interlocking tread blocks.
Naturally, this is also backed by placing the sipes. Subsequently, in a way that rejects and throws out pieces of grit and gravel. Significantly, at one time tyres with many sipes would also be noisy. Of course, when driving on normal tarmac roads. The Continental tyres. Thus, with all their siping can now run much quieter, on normal tarmac roads, due to the computer design

A Pure winter tyre
Significantly, this new winter tyre has been added to the range for use in the winter months. So, with the temperature dipping bellow the important 7 degree C then these specialist tyres are an important upgrade.
As we all know winter is not just about snow and ice ! Heavy rain and extremely wet roads can be just as hazardous . So Continental have developed the ContiWinterContact TS 810 Sport tyre. Combining superb handling with good wet grip and safe driving characteristics on cold, wintry roads.

Continental Sport Contact 6-WE head out to the Blister Berg Circuit to test out the Continental Tire’s new ultra high-performance tyre, the SportContact 6.
Continental Sport Contact 6
Designed for sports and high-performance vehicles. Black Chili for maximum grip in all directions enables supreme driving experience.
To enhance the power and performance of the new Continental Sport Contact 6, the guys in the laboratory at Continental have made further developments with the “Black Chili” tread compound. In the new Continental Sport Contact 6, there are two main things, which ensure maximum road holding when the tyre is pushed to its limits.
The Continental Sport Contact 6 tyres rubber compound is so designed as to bind with the surface of the road. At the same time, the tyres footprint generates chemical reactions, between the tyre compound bonds with the road surface, which ensures high adhesion, acting like small suction pads due to the behaviour of individual atoms at nanoscopic level.
All this technology gives the Sport Contact 6 fantastic grip on the road-surface. This give grip during cornering, braking and also fast acceleration, both on dry and wet roads. The tyres top speed has been established at 220 MPH, meaning that the new tyre has to cope with massive structural pressures and forces, due to forces such as centrifugal force.
This of course is established by strong construction materials and manufacturing. These materials are created with new materials such as “Aralon 350”, which is specially developed for the Continental Sport Contact 6.
Using the “Aralon 350” material which as I say was especially for the Sport Contact 6, Continental utilises a synthetic fibre developed by two yarns made from strong aramid and closely interwoven with a yarn of flexible nylon. The yarn is then impregnated with rubber into belt strips. This fibre is placed under the tread as a joint-less cap ply. This structure is extremely strong and acts like an additional steel belt and offers controlled, behaviour even at maximum speeds.
Conti Tyre Africa (CTSA) is celebrating a significant milestone as the company reaches its 70th anniversary this year.
Some parts of the world can get away by using these one stop bucket shops. The reason is that they are not profitable? not here in the UK ?
I must admit that i do like the style and layout. But they are more akin with the American franchise outlets. This outlet in South Africa is obviously a Continental tyre franchise. Naturally, it looks very nice and is decked out with the Continental tyres logo.
In the UK it would not be profitable to run with a single tyre brand. Because our competition is far greater, then we need to be offer a multi-brand choice. Hence, to our retail customers.
As winter approaches, then winter tyre advice starts to come along thick and fast?
And so it should?
The past few years have seen a great increase in the number of safety conscious drivers fitting winter tyres onto their vehicles. The most popular time is the November period.
October is the time when tyre writers start to put together their articles about the safety aspects of winter tyres and other related
This particular video is indeed produced by Continental tyres. Continental winter tyres are one of the best on the market and often come top in the international motoring magazine tyre tests.
I am fortunate that we are the Continental winter tyres dealer in the Halifax area of Yorkshire here in the UK.
One of the good things about Continental winter tyres, is the fact that they have a vast range of winter tyre products, including winter tyres to fit the huge range of tyres that are fitted to SUV vehicles. These Continental winter tyres are becoming more and more popular as the drivers of this type of car realise that they do need winter tyres to drive more safely in the winter weather.
Another good point about Continental Winter Tyres is the amount of testing that they carry out. The tyres are tested extensively in all the
types of winter conditions that are possible. When they are satisfied about the quality of the product then they submit them for testing against their competitors tyres.
This can be seen with the new ContiWinter Contact TS 850 tyre. This tyre came out tops in recent winter tyre tests in Germany.
Continental have just launched the new Sportcontact 6 sports tyres across the Middle East, which has been designed for high-end cars. It replaces the
This tyre should perform very well on the supercars of the oil sheikhs in the Middle East, with their superfast cars.
This new tyre from the great German tyre maker, Continental tyres, was specially designed to fit the top of the range supercars. Continental have come up trumps once again with a new technology that will allow the Sportcontact 6 tyres to reach a staggering 220 mph.
These speeds are just a dream to the everyday motorists, but 220 mph on the Sportcontact 6 is achievable on either private tracks or on some parts of the German motorway system. This new tyre has been developed to take extreme speed and the pressures that are put on tyres at such high speeds.
Super cars that can reach such speeds include the Ferrari F40 and the Porsche 959. These cars can easily reach speeds of over 200 mph and the German engineers had to come up with a tyre that would be safe when fitted to such supercars.
These cars are also coming onto the market with larger tyre and wheel sizes and so the sportscontact 6 will be coming out in tyre sizes from 19 to 23 inch. The new technology built into these sportscontact tyres is a cap ply made of a material known as Aralon 350 a strong material that has been developed from the aerospace industry; this gives the new tyre stability at very high speeds.
One of the secret ingredients to help Continental achieve a greener footprint is the use of Black Chilli in the tyre compound. This helps to give this high performance tyre a better grip offering a better driving experience at high speed.
The new sportscontact 6 will be available with a speed index of (ZR)Y with aspect ratios of 25 to 40, probably making them a tyre fitters nightmare?
The Sportcontact 6 has has been developed with the help of Honda during extensive test drives at the famous Nuburgring race track. The new tyres helped to break the lap record for a front wheel drive hatchback.
The best tyre test from the UK press is finally here the EVO 2015 tyre test.
Continental tyre test winners again-Evo 2015 tyre tests
The Evo tyre test is what we all wait for and 2015 is no exception. This type of tyre testing only came out in relatively modern times, when independent examiners were allowed to compare different products and services against similar products from similar manufacturers. It is now a very common practise for comparisons to be published and there has even been a complete industry set up this with comparison web sites springing up all over the place.
Comparison tyre testing has also become popular in Europe’s motoring magazines. The one that most tyre guys go for is the Evo motoring magazine. Evo test all the aspects of tyre performance in both dry and wet weather conditions. Evo also use more unique tyre sizes, in the 2015 test the tyre size used was the 225/40R18, and they were tested on the VW Golf G Ti.
Evo use a test score system that emphasises the comfort levels of the tyres, in other words which tyre feel better when we are actually driving our own cars. In fact 40% of the score is dedicated to this result, “how good does the tyre feel”. This is very important and a should be a big consideration when you are buying your replacement tyres.
The tyre testing itself was carried out in Italy, at the Vizzola testing facility that belongs to the Pirelli tyre company. As I have said earlier the tyres were tested in both wet and dry conditions, using 225/40R18 tyres from ten different tyre companies.
Testing at Pirelli’s Vizzola facility near Milan, Italy, EVO subjected ten of the best 225/40 R18 tyres available today to the usual mix of dry, wet and comfort tests.
Continental Tyres tyre test winners came as no real surprise, but this time they were almost taken over by the up and coming tyre company Yokohama, with their Advan V105S tyres. Third place went to Pirelli tyres with their modified P-Zero.
I am very pleased with the Yokohama tyre result and although Continental tyre test winners came in at number one they should now keep an eye open for the up and coming mid-range tyre companies who are also making their names as the motorsport tyre suppliers, giving them data for improving their tyre products.
We supply both Continental and Yokohama in our tyre shop in Halifax Yorkshire UK, and congratulate them on their excellent achievements.
Can highly recommend these @YRC_Global Yokohama tyres they stick like glue on the scirocco @VWUKNews #stickytyres pic.twitter.com/bcToiWFgEu
Yokohama VW Scirocco Tyres
Of course, Yokohama Tyres are on their way to become a top ten contender in the world tyre companies. Must be remembered that Yokohama are a Japanese tyre company. So, with great ambitions to be one of the globes best tyre companies.
Not only do they sell a good product but, they have also developed a green environmental tyre, called the “BLUE EARTH’.
The guy who tweeted is certainly happy with his new tyres, fitted to his VW Scirocco, and like thousands of our customers here in Halifax,Yorkshire,UK he will get years of great service from his new Yokohama VW Scirocco tyres.
As many of my readers will know. This Japanese tyre company. Are also very well known for their involvement in manufacturing and supplying tyres for motorsport. This involvement helps in research and development. Designing new tyres for the regular passenger car market.
Pellon tyres in Yorkshire UK, became a Yokohama tyre dealer
So, we have had nothing else but praise for this excellent tyre product. Point-S are our main suppliers now in 2018. So we buy direct with Point-S rebate.
It came as no surprise to me when the Twitter guy Adam Beeston, thought it necessary to tweet about the VW Scirocco tyres. These tyres have always appealed to the younger sportier type of driver.
Yokohama have had many years of motorsport experience. Research and development that has emanated from their tyre products . So, has been passed onto the passenger car tyre market. Making a tyre that has compounds to ensure that the tyre sticks to the road.
Yokohama are also renowned for their expertise in creating a greener tyre. This is known as the “Blue Earth tyre” and is now becoming one of their best sellers.
Continental Quiet Tyres uses remarkably simply solution to absorb tyre sound waves
Conti’s engineers say that,” the Black Chili rubber compound. That is used in the foam lining of the new Quiet Tyres. Hence, is designed to mesh with the roughness of the road. At the same time, temporary atomic connections. Thus, between the tyre and the road surface ensure high adhesion. So acting like small suction pads. Both factors make for the greatest possible adhesion. As a result, in all directions.Including, during braking, cornering, and acceleration. Of course, on both wet and dry roads”.
These new Quiet Tyres will be on sale for the use on high performance cars. The tyres were shown off and tested on the roads of Southern Spain, near Marbella. The event was attended by top motorsport journalists on a 300 mile stretch of roads, using cars like the Jaguar F-Type, Mercedes CLA AMG, BMW M4, Porsche Macan S, Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray and Tesla Model S.
Continental Quiet Tyres
The engineers at Continental tyres must be highly delighted. Especially, with recent innovations. Continental quiet tyres as I call them. Have brought a different meaning to tyres that you simply cannot hear. This is a great advantage to all types of vehicle. Especially, the super cars that rely on comfort. The new Continental quiet tyres will certainly give them that.
The theory is quiet simple? It is like any kind of sound proofing. Just a layer of special foam material bonded to the inside of the tyres tread. The strip is from 100 to 120 mm wide and is fitted to the whole circumference of the inside of the tread area, by using ContiSeal. ContiSeal is a puncture repair material to bond the strip into the Continental quiet tyres.
The system can be used on almost any radial tyres. The foam is very light and has no effect on the weight or balancing of the tyre and wheel assembly.
Have made extensive in-roads into the perfect winter tyre. of course, I mean that are most suitable for the larger and sportier cars. Hence such as the BMW’s and Mercedes.
Continental are of course a German company. Thus, they are interlinked with the German tyre manufacturers. This is of course a natural thing to do. Mainly because of the close proximity to each other.
Therefore, it makes sense to cooperate with each other. Naturally, in the compatibility of interlinking products. Of course, this could be just seen as progress. Indeed it probably is.
Car design and manufacturing is a fast moving science. Therefore, tyres have to keep up with the pace. The tyres of yesteryear would be no good for the modern fast coupe. Of course that is produced in Germany.
Tyre buffs, only have to look at the Cont Contact range of tyres. Each new car that is developed, now requires a tyre to match. Continental have always been at the forefront of tyre development. This meets all the qualities of the large German car Manufacturers.
This tyre development also includes winter tyres. Germans and other Europeans have an urge to head for the ski resorts during winter time. This means that these large cars require tyres that will go down the Autobahn at over 100 MPH and then drive up mountains to reach the snow slopes.
This where the Continental Winter TS850 Tyres, come into their own. These tyres were tested by the German car magazine Auto Zeitung , the ContiWinterContact TS 850 defended its title and again finished best in test.
