Without a doubt!

Regarding the significance of performing brake and handbrake checks on your vehicle, the following is a set of ten questions and answers that have been crafted specifically for a blog post and optimised for the format of Google’s search results:

Why is it essential to do routine inspections of the brakes on my vehicle?
A: It is essential for safety to do routine brake inspections. They make certain that your brakes are functioning properly, which is essential for bringing your vehicle to a safe and appropriate stop in a timely manner, particularly in conditions of emergency.

What are some of the warning signals that my brakes need to be checked?

Wow!! I just took my son Matthew to work, and it is -5C outside. However, I am rubbing my hands a little this morning. First, we are open for the first time after the Christmas break. Of course, secondly, we sell and fit car batteries.

While I am talking about batteries,. Hence, I could not believe the Halfords TV ad. Hence, they were saying in the ad that they would fit a car battery (from them, of course) for £10 only.

Consequently, I could not believe my ears? A similar-quality battery from Pellon Tyres would cost much less than Halfords, and we will fit the battery free of charge for you. So, we all know and understand the word “product, but charging a £10 fitting fee takes the Micky.

With winter weather comes winter driving. Whether you’re reading this in a snowstorm or it’s still balmy outside, getting prepared for winter is a right-now job. While safety is an important consideration all year, there are certainly some auto maintenance jobs and safety checks that are specific to chilled air and winter driving that are a good idea to check into before we’re knee deep in the season.

A: Unusual noises from your brakes, such as squealing or grinding, a spongy or soft brake pedal, the car pulling to one side when braking, or the brake warning light going on, are all indications that your brakes require servicing.

What is the recommended frequency for having my brakes inspected?
When it comes to your brakes, it is advised that you check them at least once a year. On the other hand, if you start to detect any problems or if your driving habits involve stopping frequently, it is possible that you will need to perform more frequent checks.

During a brake check, what are the steps involved? Winter Auto Maintenance
During a brake check, it is common practice to examine the brake pads, discs, and shoes for signs of wear. Additionally, the brake fluid level and quality are taken into consideration, and the complete braking system, including the lines and hoses, is examined to ensure that it is in good condition.

Does the performance of my vehicle suffer when the brakes are worn?
The answer is yes; worn brakes can have a considerable impact on the performance of your vehicle. They have the potential to result in greater stopping distances, decreased control of the vehicle, and an increased chance of catastrophic braking failure.

It is vital to check the handbrake, but why is that? Winter Auto Maintenance
The handbrake, often known as the parking brake, is an essential component for your vehicle’s safety when it is parked. The automobile is prevented from rolling, particularly on slopes, when the handbrake is in good working order. This ensures that the vehicle is safe and complies with the standards that govern the road.

How can I determine whether or not my handbrake needs adjustment?
In the event that your handbrake requires many clicks to activate or if it raises higher than it normally would, it is possible that it requires adjustment. Additionally, if the vehicle appears to roll slightly when it is parked on an incline with the handbrake applied, this is an indication that it needs to be checked.

What will happen if I wait too long to perform brake maintenance? Winter Auto Maintenance
Inadequate maintenance of the brakes can result in the failure of the brakes, an increase in the stopping distance, and an increased likelihood of driving into an accident. It is also possible that it will result in more expensive repairs in the future if components experience premature wear and tear.

Exist different kinds of brakes, each of which requires a different kind of maintenance? Winter Auto Maintenance
Disc brakes, drum brakes, or a mix of the two are all possible types of brakes for automobiles. It is necessary to perform specific maintenance and care on each type of brake because each type has its own unique components, such as pads for disc brakes and shoes for drum brakes.

What is the best place for me to get my brakes checked?
A: Make sure that you take your vehicle to a reliable service shop or garage to have your brakes inspected. If you want the greatest service, you should look for places that have qualified technicians that have expertise working on vehicles of the same make and model as yours.

In order to provide your readers with information that is both clear and succinct regarding the significance of brake and handbrake checks, these questions and answers are designed to be ideal for presentation in a blog post that is optimised for Google search results. It is important to keep in mind that including personal experiences or references to the local area might make your material more engaging for your audience in the UK.

To carry on.

This really is the time when the bad weather can catch you out. Please make sure that your battery is in good condition. Also, check your levels. Including, your window washer bottle. Please make sure that you have put some de-icer in the water. Fit winter tyres if you want to be a safer driver in the possible ice and snowfall.

Make sure that you have cleaned all the frost from your screen and side windows before setting off on a journey. Naturally, you should check your lights and replace any dud bulbs.

Michelin Robo Race Tyres-Michelin to supply tyres to upcoming Robo Race championship

Michelin Robo Race Tyres

The upcoming Robo race championship – an entirely driverless series – has announced that it will share Formula E tyre supplier Michelin when it launches next year. Robo race is expected to debut in late-2017 as a Formula E support series and therefore sharing tyre supplier makes sense. In order to […]

Michelin Robo Race Tyres

Similar to the Formula E car technology, then the Driverless Roboforce cars will be racing around on the world’s circuits in the 2016/17 race season.

Michelin is named as Roborace’s official tyre partner. Michelin has been developing an exclusive solution for the ultimate “Robocar,” created by Daniel Simon, which will use next-generation Michelin road tyres to be used in the series, in secrecy at its testing facilities and sharing over 125 years of its knowledge with Roborace.
Roborace collaborates with the greatest manufacturers and suppliers in the world to push the boundaries of autonomous development. When the Roborace series debuts, the tyres will be crucial.

Because they must be able to handle the speeds and demands of a brand-new racing format. A main objective of the series is to develop software and hardware that will hasten the release of driverless technology that will benefit the end user. As such, the tyres must also be suitable for use on ordinary road cars.

Hence, these cars are being developed by the use of DevBot.

For the reason, as to allow teams of experts. Of course, to join ranks and develop the software. Including software and experience of hardware. Thus, that could be used in conjunction with developing the “Robocar”.

Unlike the Robocar. The DevBot has a cabin that can be driven by a human. Hence, or a computer. Allowing teams to fully understand how the car thinks. Also, and feels on a racetrack alongside the comprehensive real-time data.

Pirelli reveals tyre choices-for first F1 race meetings of 2017

Pirelli reveals tyre choices

There was a necessity for a stronger, lower-riding radial tyre for Lancia’s “Stratos” rally car. As a result, Pirelli radial tyres were developed.

As a result, the designers created a far more durable tyre architecture that was wider and had a significantly lower side wall. Because of how well this design did and how it helped “Lancia racing,” Porsche started using the Pirelli Cinturato tyre in its racing division as well.
This is yet another piece by Pirelli. Consequently, let’s talk about the engineering processes used to create their tyres.

owing to their knowledge of and involvement in the motorsports industry. In Halifax, UK, strangely enough, there is not much demand for Pirelli tyres. Today’s “high-end” supercars come standard with an abundance of Pirelli tyres. from Porsches to Aston Martins, of course.

Despite being substantial, our clientele travels in less expensive vehicles. Undoubtedly, we do receive a few of the more expensive vehicles, but how many?

Importantly, due to their participation in the F1 racing environment. Then Pirelli created tyres for the newest generation of supercars that are sold as luxury vehicles. As a result, we don’t get a lot of sales or feedback on the new Pirelli P Zero tyres. It’s worthwhile to read this informative article.

Michelin Race Truck- Spotted by twitter user MCN Sport

Michelin Race Truck

I should imagine that we have all seen these giant Michelin trucks at some time or another. Of course, they are used to carry tyres and fitting equipment to all the large motorsport events throughout the world.

Huge events such as lemans 24 Hr race would probably have more than one of these giant trucks in their Michelin tyres livery of white yellow and blue.

Michelin tyres are probably the worlds largest supporters of motor-sporting events in the world. From world rally-cross events to the giant F1 racing scene, then Michelin tyre have a tyre for every situation.

Motor GP another Michelin success

Michelin give this sport some excellent support. So, the Michelin trucks that I have been writing about, needs to be large enough to hold 1,200 tyres.

As I have said, together with all the necessary installation and balancing tools, which, even when expertly arranged, take up three articulated vehicles.

Incredibly, if that wasn’t enough to worry about, their mobile office, where all the paperwork and invoicing takes place. Which serves as a base for Michelin’s 25-person crew.

Which, joins the back of the convoy (nine technicians who work with the teams in the pit lanes, 11 tyre-fitters, two managers, a designer and a chemist, in case you were wondering).

Would you believe it ?

I must admit to my interest in tyres that are used for the motorsport team. Therefore, I have often taken interesting images, throughout my days as a blogger.

Bridgestone Dueler HP tyres-fitted to new Mercedes-GLC SUV – Etyres

Bridgestone Dueler HP tyres

Bridgestone Dueler HP tyres

Bridgestone Dueler HP tyres have been chosen by Daimler for the 2015 worldwide launch of the second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV. The luxury mid-sized SUV leaves the factory fitted with Dueler H/P Sport tyres in four sizes across the model range.

Bridgestone tyres have done a deal. With the giant Mercedes-Benz organisation. Hence,  to fit their Bridgestone  tyres. Thus, onto the new GLC SUV mid-sized SUV car.

as you may have noticed. Of course, all of the major tyre manufacturers install new original equipment tyres.

because of the tyre quality. has been previously tested and proven, and it is very rare that any problems would occur, when the cars go out into the open market.

This is not always true. As a result, some 4X4 vehicles have had major tyre problems. especially in the USA in recent times. I believe that Firestone (now owned by Bridgestone) had issues with some Ford vehicles. Therefore, with tyre tread lifting, But in general, the tyres supplied are of excellent quality. as well as fit for purpose

The tyres are supplied to car manufacturers at factory-direct prices. This is because the percentage of drivers that will buy the same replacement tyres is very high. We find that the newer the car, the more likely it is that the driver will replace the tyre with the same tyre, and this is where the tyre manufacturers make their profits. Tyres sold to the replacement market are more expensive and more profitable than when they are sold to car companies.

Dueler HP tyres

Also, we find that the customers who buy the Mercedes and BMWs are better off using them as company cars. When the Dueler HP tyres, which were fitted to the Mercedes, need replacing, they will be superseded by the Bridgestone Dueler HP tyres, a perfect match. This is simply because first-time owners can afford to buy the most expensive tyres.

The second and third owners of the cars will probably go for a cheaper tyre brand or a mid-range brand, such as Apollo Tyres or Yokohama tyres.

Possible B.F.Goodrich Upgrade-Michelin pondering BFG plant expansion

Possible B.F.Goodrich Upgrade

WOODBURN, Ind. (Dec. 14, 2016) — Michelin North America Inc. is considering a “potential investment” over the coming five years in its BFGoodrich Fort Wayne tire plant to support its “ambition to grow the BFG brand in the U.S. and around the world.” In a statement, Michelin said “no […]

In Akron, Ohio, in 1870, Dr. B F Goodrich established the first tyre plant in North America. Performance was already ingrained in the brand’s DNA even back then. This prompted Charles Cross Goodrich, Benjamin’s son, to build the nation’s first tyre research facility.
As a result, BFGoodrich started to distinguish itself from the competition as early as 1903, when it supplied the Winton Touring Car, the first vehicle to cross North America from east to west, with tyres.
BFGoodrich quickly realised that there was another way to increase mobility and decided to join the fast growing aeronautics sector.

This gave the risk-taking brand new ways to push the envelope.
In 1909, at the first international air race held in Reims
, the brand was associated with the 75 km/h speed record achieved on a Curtiss Aeroplane Corporation aircraft.
The opportunity to overcome a task that was previously inconceivable offered itself in the 1920s. The Spirit of St. Louis, in which Charles Lindbergh completed the first nonstop transatlantic flight in history, was equipped with BFGoodrich tyres in 1927.

Possible B.F.Goodrich Upgrade

To my knowledge, Michelin Tyres of North America consequently makes B.F. Goodrich tyres. Thus, the B.F. Goodrich Corporation. Which was formerly called B.F. Goodrich Company. Accordingly, stopped making their tyres in 1988. and sold the business and the B.F. Goodrich name to Michelin.

B.F. Goodrich was one of the world’s leading 4×4 tyre makers and sold the business and the B.F. Goodrich name to Michelin. In my opinion, Michelin wanted the 4×4 side of the business, to fill in a missing link in their tyre portfolio.

Here at Pellon Tyres, we have a great interest in BFG tyres. Consequently, we are members of a UK 4×4 Web site. Therefore, Goodrich tyres have a great reputation. Particularly when it comes to 4×4 enthusiasts. Because these guys know all about some of the very best 4×4 tyres that are available in the U.K. and the rest of the world.

BFG When it comes to all 4×4 tyre classes for off-road use, 4×4 tyres are the best. Hence, “off-Road” tyres are renowned for their durability, strength, and mileage.

As a result, a $50 million investment in the BFG brand will result in many new jobs and possibly an upgrade to the current line of car and light truck tyres.

Eric Roberts

WOODBURN, IN (December 14, 2016) — Michelin North America Inc. is considering a “potential investment” over the coming five years. Hence, in its BFGoodrich Fort Wayne tyre plant, it supports its “ambition to grow the BFG brand in the U.S. and around the world.”

The winter tyre market has now become a very important part of all the major tyre company portfolios. Hence, different compounds and manufacturing materials, have helped make winter tyres a much safer and quieter product.

Thus, the development of larger cars and new car concepts. Of course, such as the SUV and Crossover cars. Therefore, have also played a large part in winter tyre development.

Of course, I am pleased to say that the winter tyre revolution has not passed us by here at Pellon Tyres in Halifax, UK. Our customers have taken in all the advice that have been given out by the tyre press. Including, my very own blogs.

Accordingly, I decided to open up a “Tyre Hotel“. This enables our customers to store their summer and winter tyres at my tyre shop in Halifax. Of course, it became so popular that we are now up to our limit with storage space.

The main explosion of our winter tyre sales came from word of mouth. Thereby, we decided to open the winter tyre hotel. It is important that we record all the tyre sizes and customer names. Hence, this ensures that we do not get any mix-ups when the customers come to have their tyre changed over.

Women Drivers-Not Charged More For Car Repairs Despite Media Claims – motoring.co.uk

Correct Tyre Pressures
Women drivers are not charged more than men for car repairs, despite recent claims in the media, WhoCanFixMyCar.com argues.

When I saw the original post that accused service garages of overcharging our female drivers, I became very angry.

This article comes a little closer to the truth and finds that the reverse is more like the truth. I would like to think that on a like-for-like job, men and women would be charged the same, but I am sure that each gender leans a little towards his or her own type of customer.

I noticed a few years ago that our female customer base was increasing and has now overtaken the men for visits to my service centre garage.

We have always been fair and honest with all our customers, and I think that this has come across extremely well with our lady car owners. In fact, I went a step further and now employ a female manager to run my garage.

Deb has great strengths in the customer relations department and is excellent with both men and women customers, but I do not mind admitting that women drivers do trust another lady in the garage environment, and this is proving to be a very successful move on my behalf with no negative affects in all departments.

Are ladies charged more ?

This article has been seen to prove that in most cases, women are let off more lightly when quoted for a like-for-like job. Don’t ask me why, but I think it may be closer to the truth than being overcharged by garages, as the last report suggested.

Garages can become more female-friendly by making small but important additions to the reception area. Here in my service centre, we always have fresh flowers on display and up-to-date women’s magazines. Cleanliness is also very important, as is a fresh smell. How many garages actually smell of oil, tyres, or petrol? This does not appeal to lady drivers.

We made these changes a few years ago and are now reaping the benefits. We also make sure that our courtesy cars are female-friendly; they usually do not like driving big old cars.

Of course, another important thing to have checked is the timing belt changing time!

Fake Brake Parts-Garages warned about the dangers of fitting fake brakes

Fake Brake Parts

Brand explains how to recognise fakes and emphasises the negative effects of using fake parts. Mintex, an aftermarket brand, is warning independent garages about the dangers of fitting counterfeit parts, stating that it is critical that garages understand how to spot a fake and the consequences of fitting fraudulent parts. According […]

Fake Brake Parts

This warning comes from the world-famous Mintex brake company. However, it is not a new problem here in the UK. In my opinion, it started when thousands of back-street car parts shops started to open up in the late Seventies.

Fake Brake Parts

Many of the brake parts and, indeed, other car parts were fake. My father worked for an old, established car parts company in Dewsbury, here in the UK. Of course, this business was badly affected. Consequently, they could not compete with the cheap imported and fake brake parts that these bucket shops were selling.

I also remember a TV programme about undercover reporters. Because I was in the trade, I took great interest. The TV programme had exposed a group of counterfeit car parts manufacturers in Turkey. The parts included brake linings, discs, and pads.

Fake Brake Parts

Thus, they were made in Turkey and counterfeited by leading manufacturers. Accordingly, they were even branded with names such as Mercedes and BMW. You could order any box name that you wanted.

These were then imported into the United Kingdom and sold cheaply in bucket car spare shops. Therefore, killing off old, established local businesses. It looks like the practice has raised its ugly head again. If it ever went away, that is.

Increased Use of Counterfeit Brake Components

Topic: Recognizing Fake Brake Parts and Removing Them

There is a serious threat to motorists, passengers, and pedestrians from the increase in counterfeit brake parts. In this piece, we’ll talk about the risks associated with purchasing counterfeit brake parts, how to spot them, and what you can do instead.

Consequences of Using Counterfeit Brake Components

Fake brake components are frequently of low quality and can reduce stopping distances and put drivers at risk. They may cause: Longer Stopping Distances Due to Less Stopping Power Counterfeit parts may not perform up to par, increasing the likelihood of an accident.

Accidents can occur if the brakes wear out quickly or completely due to low quality parts. Damage to other parts of the braking system from using counterfeit components increases the cost of repairs.

How to Spot Fake Brake Components

Here are some telltale indicators that a brake part is a fake:

A bargain that seems too good to be true, such as a ridiculously low price, probably is. Be wary of parts that are priced suspiciously low.

Inconsistent or low-quality packaging: This may be an indicator of fake goods.

Fake parts may not have any identifying marks or branding, while real ones usually do.

Lack of Warranty: While many legitimately produced items come with warranties, counterfeit components almost never do.

How to Spot Fake Brake Parts

To avoid counterfeits, only buy brake components from reputable sources like official dealers or large chains.

Numbers must be checked against the manufacturer’s database of your vehicle to ensure compatibility and authenticity.

Examine the Branding and Packaging: Look for any Discrepancies That Might Indicate a Fake Product.

Seek Expert Opinion: Before purchasing any replacement brake parts, it is recommended that you speak with a qualified mechanic.

Conclusion

The proliferation of counterfeit brake components is a major threat to travellers’ safety. If you care about your safety and the safety of others, you should never compromise on quality or authenticity when purchasing brake components. Doing so will contribute to making the roads a safer place for everyone.
