Tyresafe.org – promoting UK tyre safety and highlighting the dangers of driving on defective tyres

Tyresafe.org
Tyresafe.org

TyreSafe.org  was set up with the responsibility of raising the awareness of the importance of the dangers of defective and worn tyres.

Hi Judging at some of the tyres that we are removing, in our Halifax Tyre shop. So, you can see why we need such a great organisation as Tyresafe. Constantly, trying to educate and inform the car owning public. Hence, about the proper care and safety when it comes to their tyres.

The image i have used. Of course, is an every day sample of the tyres that we take off our customers cars.
The tyre that is stood on edge. So, is actually worn down to the steel belt. Consequently, the left hand side of the tread area. The driver said that he was too busy to check his tyres. But he was shocked to see them in such bad condition.

As i have said on many occasions, Tyresafe are a none profit making organisation. Trying to educate the motoring public. Thus, with different safety awareness campaigns. Of course, throughout the UK. They also produce excellent tyre safety videos. Subsequently,  the website is worth a look.

Tyresafe.org  established itself  in 2006. Naturally, it is a non- profit making organisation. Tyresafe campaigns for the tyre safety part of the tyre industry. Hence, in line with the legislation that is current at the moment. Including,  the current duty of care regulations.

Tyresafe.org receives its support from many areas

Of the tyres industry, this includes most of the large tyre manufacturers, tyre retailers and tyre wholesalers. Tyresafe has also some  equipment suppliers and a number of vehicle manufacturers.

To get the safety message over to the driving public, Tyresafe.org works  closely with a huge range of commercial and government organisations, these include the Highways England, Road-safe,police forces, fire services, councils and many other such government bodies.

TyreSafe were set up with the responsibility of raising the awareness of the importance of the dangers of defective and worn tyres.

There is no doubt about it but tyresafe.org are the place to go. In the UK for good tyre safety advice. Thus this site is well worth a look.

Tyresafe is Britain’s number one tyre safety organisation.
They were first set up in 2006 and is a non-profit making organisation. Dedicated to alarming the public of important tyre safety matters.Thereupon,  towards the problems with the use of defective and illegal tyres.

The awareness campaigns that the group sets up. Are all in line with a current duty of care regulations.Of course, also the legislation that covers vehicles, here in the UK.
We at Pellon tyres in Halifax Yorkshire UK have now been a member for four years.

As the owner of the tyre business. Tyresafe has given me much confidence to drive my ideas and grievances forward. Including my pet hate and that is the selling of illegal part worn tyres.

The organisation, have done much work in making the public more aware.Especially, of this growing worldwide problem. Which is the thing that I am always writing about. People are just not conscious of the dangers of part worn tyres.

Over the past few years. It was good to see that other important organisations have joined Tyresafe. Because of their recognition. As well as tyre manufacturers, wholesaler and retailers (like ourselves).

They have been joined by outside tyre groups such as car makers and equipment makers; such has been their impact on safety matters.
Tyresafe also works in close cooperation with other organisations. As expected, like the police and fire service. Thus are often coordinating with the Highways Agency and Roadsafe as well as giving advice to local councils.

Tyre Safe Van-Tyre Information- Tyre Safety Information also applies to Van drivers ?

Van tyres  do a tremendous amount of hard work during their life- time. Van drivers only notice them when they are down to the steel cords. Van tyres are just as important as car tyres. Because of the weight and the fact that these vans are out in all weathers, then they may even be more important as a safety aspect, than car tyres.

Having Four Good Tyres-The Importance of Having a Good Set of Tyres

Having Four Good Tyres

Having Four Good Tyres-In all honesty, I think that most motorists take their tyres for granted? All you have to do is spend a day in my tyre centre, in Halifax UK and listen to what the customers have to say.

With all the focus on the internet and tyre dealers are scrambling to try and get their share of the online market? Although it is a reality, the internet is not all that it is cracked up to be. It is said that the internet sales are at the moment 20% of the tyre market and growing at a steady pace.

This leaves us with the other 80%? We are not looking for all cars to

Having Four Good Tyres
Having Four Good Tyres

have four good tyres, all the time, in fact, many of our customers change their tyres in pairs. This is usually because of the way that modern cars wear their tyres on the front or rear, depending on the drive of the car, front wheel drive cars usually wear down the front tyres first.

Going back to where I started. If you did spend a day in my tyre centre, then you would find that many of our customers, leave their entire tyre problems to us? They do not know the tyre size and have not got a clue if their tyres are illegal or not. These people will not be shopping on the internet for tyres. Four good tyres are all they are looking for, and they rely on us to look after their tyre requirements.

Another proof of this is when we first started our “tyre hotel” scheme. We were and still are inundated with customers, taking our advice and trusting us, when it came to winter tyres and storing their summer tyres. This proves the level of trust that our customers have and in my opinion, will never be replaced by the internet.

Tyre Inspection Imperative-Checking the tyres could save your life?

Tyre Inspection Imperative

Tyre Inspection Imperative

Tyre Inspection Imperative; Why do tyres need to regular inspections? This video explains what should be checked as part of a routine maintenance plan, and why.

In today’s fast and furious road and driving conditions.Hence, it has never been as important for you to check your tyres. As a result, on a regular basis .The banner title of “tyre inspection imperative”. Therefore, has never been a truer statement.

Many of our customers do not realise. What the effects of just one of their tyres. What the affect a loss of pressure can have on the handling of  cars. We had a guy in the other week. Who openly admitted that he had a screw in his tyre.Of course, he was pumping it up every week for the past six weeks.

That is ridiculousness ?  he thought he was doing the correct thing , but i wonder how long he had been travelling on the motorway with a tyre that only had half the pressure in it. In my opinion if i have ever had a car with a part deflated tyre, then the car never handles correctly and is difficult to control, constantly pulling to the side where the partially flat tyre is.

Tyre Inspection Imperative

Some of the worse culprits that i have seen have been van drivers.

tyre inspection imperative
Under-inflated Tyres;tread depth should be taken at least every two weeks

They just do not correct the tyre pressures when their vans are fully loaded? in the worse cases you can see that the driver is struggling to keep the van in a straight line. In many cases the van driver must have a tyre blowout, just because of the heavy load combined with too little air pressure in the tyres. So the tyre inspection imperative, warning should be taken seriously at all times, and a safer journey will be the result.

A must watch video about the importance of checking your tyres? good visual aids have been added to make the video easy to understand, great for young people just starting to learn the ropes about driving and road safety including the very important tyres.
